Obvious truths, and the people who can't see it

CNN has a pretty good article on the "Gayby Boomers", grown children raised by homosexual parents.  While the notion seems self-evident to most of us -- the important factor in child-rearing is the quality of parenting, not the biological traits; otherwise adoption, godparenting, and fostering would never result in functional adults -- people with a need to justify their favored-by-Deity status will find some group to castigate as "inadequate", preferably without actually tainting themselves by direct observation of the theoretical inadequacy being developed.

I'm sure, back in the day, a segment of society explained that THOSE people with the SHORT noses always make LOUSY judges of ANYthing, because Thoth knows long, ruddy noses make you more sensitive to details ... why are we letting those puny-nostrilled types make any decisions of import at all?
