I write a lot. I am set to "maximum verbosity", to borrow a phrase from the old game Zork.

However, very little of what I write is of interest to any sort of audience, really.

I invented the name "Jarissa" in the late eighties, and started using it on Usenet in the very early 1990s. (Far to many people in my generation had the same personal name as I was originally born with, and this seemed less confusing than other solutions I have used.) I am //utterly delighted// that there are real people, out in the real world, who have never heard of me; never heard of my current OR former fandoms; and have this name on their birth certificates. Will you look at that: I mattered to the world, and I never noticed until long afterward. You go, Jarissas that I will never meet: you shape the world of tomorrow.
